Sugar theme

Sugar is a free theme for XOOPS that supports 3 columns.

It features various modern techniques for the website which include:
* Rounded corners using CSS3 (no fallback for IE or unsupported, degrades gracefully)
* RGBA shadow for the avatars in the forum
* Alpha transparency when hovering over an image

It also includes custom PNG buttons for newbb as well as PSDs to make the theme easily modifable.

The buttons for newbb use the ElegantIcons released by Nick from ElegantThemes (http://www.elegantthemes.com)
The other graphics in this theme are the famous Silk icons by FamFamFam (http://www.famfamfam.com) as well as a photoshopped background by me.

This theme has been created using the blank theme by Kris_Fr.

The theme has been tested in Opera 10.60, Mozilla Firefox 3.6.6, Chrome 5.0.375.99 and Safari 5. It also renders properly in IE9 PP, but in the current IE8 and below there are a few errors including the not rendering of the rounded corners, RGBA shadow or alpha transparancy on the logo (this works, but gives a less nice effect).

This xoCode extension allows you to show the latest tweet of a twitter user.

How to install this xoCode extension?
1. Download [THIS] archive.
2. Extract it to a local folder.
3. Upload the contents of the "htdocs" folder to your XOOPS root directory.
THAT'S ALL

- You can change the styling of the Latest Tweet div in the htdocs/class/textsanitizer/lt/lt.css file.
- If you have installed other extensions like the "Acronym" one please read the "MANUAL INSTALLATION" section below.

How to use this xoCode extension?
You can place the [lt]twitter-username[/lt] tag in any xoCode enabled field (like the signature field of your profile). If you place [lt]XOOPS_forums[/lt] in a xoCode enabled textfield this would display the latest tweet of the twitter user "XOOPS_forums".

You can see a demonstration of this extension [HERE] (At the signature/"handtekening" section).

1. Download [THIS] archive.
2. Extract it to a local folder.
3. Replace /htdocs/class/textsanitizer/config.php with the copy from you server.
4. Open the just replaced file and replace this code (line 27):

IAESTE - The International Association for the Exchange of students for Technical Experience

The IAESTE is an international organization exchanging students for technical work experience abroad. Students gain relevant technical training lasting from 4 weeks to 18 months.

IAESTE was founded in 1948 at Imperial College London.
The Imperial College Vacation Work Committee headed by Mr. James Newby initiated a meeting with national organizations from 10 European countries in effort to promote better understanding between countries and cultures.

Since 1948, the association has grown to include more than 80 countries worldwide and has exchanged in excess of 300,000 students. Yearly IAESTE exchanges around 7000 students playing an important role in giving technical undergraduates practical work experience and a global perspective.

IAESTE includes 85 countries of the world, with a potential of accepting new countries in the organization every year. On the General conference 2005 held in Cartagena de Indias, colombia, a statute and by-laws of IAESTE a.s.b.l. has been established, making IAESTE a registered "associacion sans but lucratif" (non-profit organization), with the centre in Luxembourg. WOX - World Of Xoops

Welcome to the July 2010 issue of WOX (World of XOOPS) Newsletter - (see here previous versions)

As always, as the first thing in each newsletter we wanted to express our gratitude to all of you who have donated money to XOOPS Foundation! We truly appreciate your trust and support!

June was a little slower month for us, but that's normal as vacation time is coming However, work on 2.4.5 release is going forward, with DJ personally working on finalizing the release. The final version should be released early next week. The important news for us was that XOOPS continues be downloaded in high numbers (the last version 2.4.4 already 40,000 times), and that we are being used to power some new important Websites, like the one for SHPE 2010 National Conference. Also very encouraging are the new activities around the world - with new designs for XOOPS Turkey and XOOPS Bosnia/Herzegovina, new banners for XOOPS France, and XOOPS Germany now being accessible via mobile phones. The International XOOPS Community is what makes XOOPS innovative and let us grow!

Unfortunately, our recent contest for XOOPS Articles was not successful - there were no entries We've extended the deadline to July 30th, so please help us out with some cool articles.

His designs are always very fresh and innovative, showing that with XOOPS sky is the limit!
XOOPSer of the Month Award: is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month, it goes to Mirza Mrkaljevic (Bleekk) from Austria for his continues support on XOOPS Germany. He recently redesigned the Website to make it accessible also from mobile phones.

XooslaCandy v1.0 Alpha

Hiya Xoopsers,

I have decided to release two new modules for testing. XooslaCore and XooslaCandy and I would be extremely grateful if you guys and girls could help out with their development.

XooslaCore

it is a total rewrite of the WF-Resources module, it is smaller, faster will help in the aid of Xoosla Module development in the future and providing many new features both for (Xoosla) developers and users alike. Automatic updates, stats on Xoosla modules and more.

XooslaCandy

Xoosla Candy was inspired by the Joomla modules, RokCandy by Rocket themes. Xooslacandy works in very much the same way but for Xoops. This module was basically just a test for the new Xoosla module framework and I thought that it could come in handy for Xoopsers out there.

For those of you interested, would you test both these modules out and provide some feedback, good or bad, just as long as it helps in the development process.

Warning:

Due to the nature of XooslaCandy, it was required that some core files be modified for proper working usage. Also, this module will only work with other modules that use the XoopsEditor framework or with the Xoops default editors. Anything else will most likely fail.

So if you wish to use this module, start annoying the developer of the module that doesn't implement either of these by default.

Instructions on how to install these modules and hacks are in the zip package.

Remember: These modules are considered as Alpha and are only released for testing purposes, as they may change heavily in the future.

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is the Source for Quality Hispanic Engineers and Technical Talent.

It was founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1974 by a group of engineers employed by the city of Los Angeles. Their objective was to form a national organization of professional engineers to serve as role models in the Hispanic community.

Each year the organization hosts a "National Conference", its major event and the largest technical and career conference for Hispanics in the country, which attracts over 5,000 engineering professionals, students and corporate representatives. The conference is an opportunity for engineering companies and corporations to recruit top talent from SHPE membership. It also provides educational, technical and career opportunities for professional and student engineers.

This year, the 2010 SHPE Conference will take place in Cincinnati, OH October 27 to October 31, 2010.

And for the first time, their conference Website (http://conference.shpe.org/) will be powered by XOOPS.

This is an important win for XOOPS, as this Website will be visited by thousands of professionals from major corporations and universities, who could become XOOPS users and developers.

It is also a sign of confidence in XOOPS by one of the top organizations for professional engineers in the USA.

Hopefully, there will be more and more high visibility Websites that are "powered by XOOPS" !
